PTFE stands for PolyTetraFluoroEthylene, which is the chemical term for the polymer (CF2)n. PTFE is a unique material, and no other plastics material  can match its combination of properties. The products are typically composed of woven fibers - like glass, Kevlar® or Nomex® - coated with PTFE (Teflon®). The resultant PTFE coated fabrics have the following general properties:

  • Outstanding heat and cold resistance (-170ºC to +260ºC)
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Non-stick surface, easy to clean
  • High dielectric strength
  • Dimensional stability
  • Resistance to UV, IR and HF
  • Non-toxic
